Why I Love Working with First Time Homebuyers
Lately I’ve been working with a lot of first time homebuyers and let me just say… I love it.
There is something really special about helping someone buy their first home. It’s a huge milestone and it’s not something people do every day so there’s a mix of excitement, nerves, questions, and sometimes a little bit of overwhelm. I genuinely enjoy being the person who gets to guide my clients through that.
A lot of my first time buyers come in thinking they’re “behind” or that they should already know how everything works. The truth is, most people don’t. Buying a home is not something we’re taught and the process can feel confusing at first. That’s where I come in.
I lead with an education first approach because I want my clients to feel confident in every step they’re taking. We talk through everything from what pre approval means, to what happens during inspections, to how to structure a strong offer. My goal is always to make sure nothing feels like a surprise.
One of my favorite parts is watching that shift happen. At the beginning there are a lot of questions and uncertainty. By the time we’re writing offers, my clients are making informed decisions and advocating for themselves. You can literally see the confidence build.
I also love helping first time buyers understand what matters most to them. It’s easy to get caught up in what you think you “should” want in a home. Through touring and conversations we figure out what actually fits your lifestyle now and long term.
And then of course, there’s the moment we get the keys. That never gets old.
If you’re thinking about buying your first home, just know you don’t have to have it all figured out before you start. That’s my job. I’m here to walk you through it, answer your questions, and make the process feel a lot more approachable and even fun.
